About Monterra

Yesterday and Today

Memories of Old Florida still exist in the area once known as the Waldrep Farm, now home to the master planned community of Monterra. Wiley Waldrep, Broward County’s last real cowboy, established his dairy farm on the site in 1928 and kept it operating until his death at 91 in 1997.  At its peak, Waldrep’s cows lazily roamed pastures that included many sections of what is now known as Cooper City, eastern sections of the City of Pembroke Pines, western sections of the City of Hollywood and some areas of the Town of Davie.

Today, this new home town, Monterra, by CC Devco Homes, a Codina-Carr Company, spans one of the most desirable and conveniently located areas in Southwest Broward County, with easy access to Florida’s Turnpike, I-95, I-595 and the many amenities, recreational activities and excellent schools that have made Cooper City such a perfect place for families to live.

Monterra’s environmentally conscious developers have taken great care to maintain the natural beauty of the area’s many pristine lakes and natural preserves, creating bike paths and scenic walking trails throughout the community and allowing each home to enjoy an inviting view.  A handsome, family-friendly clubhouse will offer residents a state-of-the-art fitness center, a combination banquet/party room, and a delightful resort style swimming pool surrounded by plenty of comfortable lounge areas. The younger set will have their own kiddie pool and separate playground. To ensure our family-friendly environment, there will be an area specifically for kids to enjoy their own pool and playground. Athletes of all ages will enjoy the full size basketball courts while those who prefer a quiet read can take advantage of the well-stocked library in the spacious clubhouse.

Monterra occupies historic land in Broward County, that echoes Florida’s quiet rural past. Today it resounds with the laughter of children and the active lifestyles of their parents as they enjoy Monterra’s many modern conveniences and wonderfully affordable homes.
